We bought a popup camper in the summer of 2022!
We saw a listing for a nice little 2000 Coleman Toas, for $2,400, in Tennessee. So we took a two day road trip to pick her up!
We slept in the camper the first night on the way home, and along this trip home she acquired the name “La Chalupa”, when a girl at a drive thru window aksed “WHAT IS THAT?!?!? A BOAT?!?!?!”.
This is the first time we had ever towed anything other than our Gear Deck on our RAV4, and it went pretty well! Slow and steady at first since she needed new tires. We stopped to get a new set at Discount tire, where we learned that tires have a speed rating. They recommended we get the tires rated for the highest speed possible. The new pair are rated for over 80 miles per hour, what a blessing.
